Interview with Peter Ghostine CTO Quest Software

I asked Peter Ghostine, DVP / CTO Quest Software, Provision Networks Division, what he thinks about the VMware vClient initiative.

As part of the VMware vClient initiative, VMware has announced a strategic partnership with Teradici to include Teradici's PC-Over-IP technology as part of VMware View.

VMware will license the Teradici PC-Over-IP display protocol and will work with Teradici to co-develop and expand PC-Over-IP.

Second day video impression of the the VMworld Europe 2009
I made a little video impression of the second day at the VMworld Europe 2009 in Cannes. It’s a ten minute video with a part of the keynote, the labs and some other things.

In addition to the Terradici "pc-over-ip" concept I would like to mention that there are alternatives.
Take a look at http://www.panologic.com/ for the zero client solutions they offer.
I'm just back from a demonstration about the central management of this solution. If you think about migration to a VDI solution why not skip al the hassel with thin, and fat clients.
Pretty impressive especially with VDI if you ask me
